Clinics & Services

Practice Nurses

Our nurses are available by appointment; their work includes investigation procedures, disease monitoring, disease prevention, screening and health promotion.

Antenatal Clinic

Your team of midwives carry out antenatal care at The Children's Centre adjoining Stanley Road Primary School on Derby Street, Chadderton. To book an appointment after you pregnancy has been confirmed by your GP please contact the Community Midwives office on 0161 652 5811.

The office is open Monday to Friday 08:30 am until 16:00.

Child Health Surveillance

We carry out 8 week developmental assessments. Your baby will normally be sent an appointment for our Child Health Clinic. Mother’s postnatal check will also be carried out at this appointment.

If it is impossible for you to attend this clinic we may be able to arrange baby’s developmental check and Mother’s post natal to be done at a different time.

Child Immunisations

These are usually given by a Practice Nurse at our regular immunisation clinic. Immunisations may be arranged at other times if necessary.

Blood Tests

These are carried out by The GP Phlebotomy Service in the Adult Day Hospital, at The Royal Oldham Hospital all week, Monday to Friday between 08.30 and 16.00.

Family Planning and Contraception

Both the doctors and nurses provide a comprehensive range of contraceptive services.

The Practice Nurses are available to give family planning advice and both hold a Certificate in Family Planning.

Unfortunately at present we are unable to provide a coil fitting service. If you wish a coil to be fitted you will need to contact a Family Planning Clinic. Please ask reception for details.

Counselling

Appointments with Angela Rankine are made by referral through your GP. He or she will discuss with you whether counselling might be useful.

Counsellors from the Alcohol and Drug Service are also available at the practice. If you feel you would like to access these counsellors, please first make an appointment to see a doctor in order that you can be referred.

Ear Syringing

This service is provided by the district nurse.

Minor Surgery & Joint Injections

Some minor operations and joint injections are carried out at the surgery. Please make an appointment in the normal way so that your problem can be assessed.

Smears

This service is provided by the practice nurses and some of the doctors.

Travel immunisations

Please contact the surgery if you have any queries regarding the type of immunisation you require. The nurse can advise you on the immunisation you need in order to travel safely and when it is best to have it.

Social Services

If you require information or guidance on such things as equipment and adaptations for the home, choosing where to live, care homes, recovering from illness, money and legal matters, being a carer, transport and disabilities etc., the Social Service can be contacted on:
